Veronica Cortez

Veronica Cortez is an undergraduate theater major at Cal Poly University, Pomona with extensive training in music and dance. Veronica found her love for performing at age 4, starting out in tap classes and putting on mini plays with her siblings at home. Over the years, she has picked up hula, baton twirling, flag twirling, folklorico, flamenco, salsa, hip hop, puppeteering, and musical theater. She’s utilized these skills combined with a passion for passing on artistic knowledge as an art lead/arts advocate/puppeteer at The dA Center for the Arts in Pomona, CA. Veronica has been a dedicated staff member of the dA since February of 2021, her favorite role being the puppeteer and voice behind Lola of Pomona: Pomona’s favorite lovable and curious Lion who is always ready to encourage families to stretch, sing, read, and create.
