ArTsWoRk
EXPLORE, CREATE, DISCOVER
The dA ArtsWork program seeks to enhance and expand the visual artistic skills of students while providing a general understanding of an arts career path. It serves students in 6th - 12th grades. The objective of ArtsWork is to prepare/guide students so that they are able to put on their own exhibition (at The dA Center for the Arts), but the lessons/teachings leading up to this are what really make this program valuable both at the personal and professional levels. Students gain experience in different types of mediums, are exposed to technical practices surrounding artwork, and even create a portfolio. On one hand, this program augments personal artistry for students as they are equipped with new forms of making art and thus new forms of expression. On the other, it accustoms students to the professional aspects/skills of an art career path, which can also apply to other career paths.
ArTsWoRk starts the first week of October, at select PUSD schools!
PUSD Students could earn over 20+ Hours of community service, along with experience towards portfolio building.
