Alicia (Nico) Morales (any pronouns) is a Chicano nonbinary multidisciplinary artist residing in Pomona, CA. Having lived in Pomona their entire life, they were consistently motivated by community leaders to follow a path in the arts. Nico discovered their enthusiasm for the arts through the media and culture of their upbringing, viewing visual arts as an ideal medium for storytelling. They pursued their studies at Cal Poly Pomona, graduating with a Bachelors in Fine Arts in Visual Communication Design and a minor in Studio Arts. During their time at Cal Poly Pomona, they explored various mediums and techniques to enhance their ideas for effective communication. Nico has gained experience as a graphic design intern with several campus organizations, including the Kellogg and Huntley Art Galleries, as well as the Office of Academic Innovation. This experience has allowed them to professionally engage with visual communication, further igniting their creative endeavors. While originally majoring in anthropology during their first two years of college, Nico discovered a love of visual anthropology and history that has continued to inspire their art and hobbies. In their leisure time, Nico enjoys digitally illustrating and writing, and is a dedicated enthusiast of video games, comics, and films, which continues to inspire their storytelling.
