Art has defined Mike's life since he was surrounded by the great muralists’ art when he traveled to Mexico City several times as a youth. Mike was raised in the San Gabriel Valley and came to Pomona almost forty years ago. Mike felt right at home with Pomona's diverse community and its hotbed of politics. Mike received a Broadcasting degree from Chaffey Community College and a BA from the University of Phoenix in Business Management with an emphasis on marketing. This lead to a long career as a media executive. Throughout Mike's adult life he has been heavily involved in the community as an activist for social and environmental justice and is currently a board member of the Latino/Latina Round Table.
