Just in time for Father’s Day, The dA Center for the Arts brings world-renowned artists, Andre and Bert Miripolsky, son and father, to transform the newly renovated gallery into their very own “Miricircus.” Andre Miripolsky’s exciting images capture the soul and epitome of Los Angeles art. In the spirit of his world-famous slogan,
“Fear No Art” he has accomplished feats of the imagination that set standards. From painting an entire set, including the floor, of The Tonight Show, to a performance art piece for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, he is called upon for great things. Both in its craft and concepts, the art of Andre Miripolsky communicates the true essence of pop art.

His father, artist Bert Miripolsky was Cultural Advisor for the American Foreign Service in Paris when Andre was born. Bert’s extended career of exhibitions spans the globe. He has been invited to show his art in the foremost cities of the world, many of which he has resided in. As a non-objective abstract artist, the elder Miripolsky is an “artist’s artist.” As with his son, color is key.

The exhibit is organized and curated by Rolo Castillo. Castillo made his mark in The Los Angeles Artist District producing large art events at his 50 Bucks Gallery. Hot music acts from Beck to Ozomatli were happy to play on the 50 Bucks stage, and some of the biggest names in art could be found on the gallery walls at these massive underground shows. Castillo moved to the Pomona Arts Colony in 2001 and quickly tapped into the art and music scene.

The dA Center for the Arts is a non-profit community organization that has been the heart of the Pomona Arts Colony for 24 years. At the beginning of 2008, Chris Toovey, founder and president of “The dA”, asked Castillo to come on board as curator. Castillo’s relationships with internationally recognized artists have made it possible for the realization of such an important exhibition.

Join us for this ground breaking event as one of the oldest art making regions in California, greets the contemporary concepts of The City of the Angels.
